EMERGENCY TRAVEL FUND

A young man serving his country has been seriously wounded, but his fiancé does not qualify for Department of Defense travel benefits so she can be at his side when he needs her the most. The FREEDOM IS NOT FREE Emergency Travel Fund was established to provide non-conforming relatives (a fiancé, best friend, grandparent or significant other) with the financial assistance they need to get to their loved ones’ side quickly and easily. Freedom Is Not Free is among the nation's leading groups to help veterans and their families with medical travel expenses.

The Department of Defense has very strict and limiting regulations regarding travel benefits for the family members of our combat wounded or fatally injured service members.

The FREEDOM IS NOT FREE Emergency Travel Fund was established as the result of an the understanding that in times of crisis, these limitations and restrictions keep loved ones from being together at critical times.
